CANACONA: A 22-year-old woman from Jashpur, Chhattisgarh, was found dead at her rented residence in Canacona on August 12.
Police said she was found inside the kitchen and was rushed to CHC Canacona, where she was declared brought dead.
A post-mortem examination was conducted at South Goa District Hospital, Margao. The police surgeon reported the cause of death as asphyxia due to constriction of the neck, with the injury described as fresh and ante-mortem.
Police have conducted the scene-of-occurrence and inquest proceedings, while further inquiry is underway.
