ANJUNA: Anjuna Police have registered a case against a 25-year-old car driver in connection with a road accident near the Government Primary School, Anjuna, in which a woman travelling as a pillion rider sustained a grievous fracture injury.
The case, registered as Anjuna P.S. Cr. No. 93/2026, was filed on September 2, 2026, at around 9.40 pm under Sections 281 and 125(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
According to the complaint filed by 25-year-old Chythra Sunil of Kollam, Kerala, the accident took place on July 13, 2026, at around 3 pm near the Government Primary School in Anjuna.
Police said the accused, Priya Gulati, was driving a car bearing registration number GA-08-AA-7656 from Mapusa towards Anjuna when she allegedly drove in a rash and negligent manner without exercising proper care and caution.
On reaching the accident spot, the car allegedly collided with a Royal Enfield Hunter motorcycle (KL-05-BB-2187) being ridden by the complainant’s friend, with Chythra travelling as the pillion rider.
Following the impact, both the rider and pillion passenger fell onto the road. The complainant sustained a fracture injury, which has been classified as grievous by police.
The case is under investigation. Further investigation is being carried out by HC-4923 Vishal K. Gawas of Anjuna Police Station.
