₹40,000 Stolen After Temple Donation Box Broken Open in Pernem

PERNEM: Mandrem Police have registered a case after an unknown person allegedly broke open a donation box and stole around ₹40,000 in cash from Shree Dev Ajoba Devasthan at Talwada, Keri, Pernem.

According to a complaint filed by 66-year-old Shrikant Ramkrishna Talkar, the theft occurred sometime before 7.45 am on September 10, 2026.

The accused allegedly broke the lock of the temple’s donation box, which was kept in the open premises, and fled with the cash deposited inside.

The incident was reported to Mandrem Police at around 8.41 pm the same day.

Police have initiated an investigation to identify and trace the person involved. Further investigation is being carried out under the supervision of LPSI Sonali Harmalkar of Mandrem Police Station.
