47-Year-Old Man Dies After Vomiting Blood At Cuncolim

CUNCOLIM: A 47-year-old man from Cuncolim died after reportedly vomiting blood at his residence on August 15.

The deceased has been identified as Ramesh Ajetrao, a resident of IDC Cuncolim and a native of Solapur, Maharashtra.

According to police, information was received from PHC Balli at around 10.23 pm that Ajetrao had been brought to the health centre by 108 ambulance personnel and was declared brought dead by the doctor.

During the police enquiry, family members said Ajetrao was at home when he suddenly vomited blood. He was then taken to PHC Balli for treatment.

Police said he had a history of chronic alcohol use, liver damage and blood pressure-related ailments.

An inquest panchanama was conducted and the body was sent to SGDH, Margao, for post-mortem examination.

The Police Surgeon later certified the cause of death as hemorrhagic shock caused by ruptured esophageal varices in a person with cirrhosis of the liver and diseased lungs.

After the medico-legal formalities were completed, the body was handed over to the family for the final rites.

Further enquiry is being conducted by PSI Sudan Bhosale of Cuncolim Police Station.
