A dry tree fell on four parked cars near the W Goa hotel at Vagator on Monday evening, causing significant damage to the vehicles, especially their glass panels. The incident occurred around 5:50 pm, but fortunately, no one was injured as the cars were unoccupied at the time. Firefighters from the Mapusa Fire Department, led by Suraj Shetgaonkar and supported by Vasudev Tate, Lavinder Salgaonkar, Pravin Pisurlekar, and Srinath Narse, quickly arrived at the scene to clear the debris. The total damage is estimated at Rs 1.5 lakh. The tree, located on hotel property, is believed to have been dry and unstable, leading to its collapse. Authorities are taking steps to prevent similar incidents in the future.
