Panaji, September 1, 2026:Goa Pradesh Congress Committee Media & Communication Department Chairman Amarnath Panjikar launched a sharp counterattack against the BJP Goa’s social-media post branding the Girish Chodankar-led Goa Congress as “Non-Dimaagi Naxal”, stating that the language reflects the BJP’s desperation and frustration when confronted with questions on its governance.
Panjikar said the BJP should understand that raising people’s issues, questioning the government and holding those in power accountable is the very essence of democracy—not “Naxalism.”
“A punctured tyre can be fixed in a workshop; but the punctures inflicted on Goa by years of BJP misgovernance cannot be hidden by social-media propaganda. The BJP may try to make political mileage out of a punctured tyre, but it cannot distract Goans from the much bigger problems created by its government,” Panjikar said.
He said that instead of answering questions on law and order, unemployment, corruption, rising public concerns and the protection of Goa’s land, identity and environment, the BJP has chosen to engage in personal attacks and social-media theatrics.
“When BJP has answers, it should give answers. When it has facts, it should present facts. Calling Congress ‘Non-Dimaagi Naxal’ is not an answer to a single question raised by us. It is merely an admission that the BJP has no political defence left,” Panjikar said.
Panjikar asserted that the Congress under GPCC President Girish Chodankar will continue to question the government fearlessly and place issues affecting ordinary Goans before the public.
“BJP Goa is rattled because Congress refuses to remain silent. We will continue to expose failures, demand accountability and fight for Goa’s interests. No amount of memes, insults or propaganda can silence the voice of Goans,” he said.
Taking a further swipe at the BJP’s attempt to mock the Congress over the punctured tyre, Panjikar said:
“The BJP should worry less about one punctured tyre and more about the punctures it has created in Goa’s governance. A tyre can be repaired within minutes; repairing the damage caused to Goa by years of misgovernance will require a change in government.”
Panjikar said the BJP should remember that social-media propaganda cannot decide the future of Goa—the people of Goa will.
“In 2027, Goans will answer the BJP at the ballot box. The real puncture will be to BJP’s arrogance, complacency and misgovernance. Until then, Congress will continue to ask questions, expose failures and stand firmly with the people of Goa,” Panjikar concluded.
