AAP Announces Authorised Leaders for Alliance Talks; Says Battle to Save Goa Must Be Fought Together

Panjim, 1 July 2026

AAP Goa State President Valmiki Naik, Velim MLA Cruz Silva, Working President Gerson Gomes and Organisation Secretary Prashant Naik announced that the Aam Aadmi Party is open to forming an alliance with opposition parties for the 2027 Goa Assembly elections. The party authorised State President Valmiki Naik, Working President Gerson Gomes and Organisation Secretary Prashant Naik to hold alliance talks on behalf of AAP. AAP leaders stated that the party’s fight is against the BJP and that the ideological battle to save democracy, protect the Constitution and safeguard Goa must be fought together.

Addressing the media, AAP Goa State President Valmiki Naik said that the political atmosphere for the 2027 Assembly elections has already begun to build and that people across Goa are frustrated with the BJP Government and want opposition parties to come together.

Valmiki Naik stated that the 2027 election is not merely an election for seats but an ideological battle against the BJP to safeguard the Constitution, protect democracy and save Goa. He said AAP received a positive response from the people in previous elections and has steadily strengthened its presence in the state. He said that AAP is not prepared to take the risk of another fractured mandate and believes Goa needs a stable government with a decisive majority. According to him, the next government should command at least 35 MLAs so that the BJP cannot engineer defections or destabilise the government.

Valmiki Naik urged all opposition parties to keep aside personal aspirations and leadership ambitions and unite in the larger interest of Goa. He said AAP is ready to enter into an alliance with like-minded opposition parties that genuinely wish to save Goa, protect democracy and defeat the BJP.

He stated that such an alliance should provide Goa with a stable government, prevent defections, avoid leadership tussles and ensure that the government completes its full term. He added that the united government must work to reverse the damage caused by the BJP, protect Goa’s land, identity, forests and environment, while also implementing a people-centric agenda that includes AAP’s commitment to free electricity, quality healthcare and better education.

AAP MLA Cruz Silva stated that Goa’s land, forests and rivers are under continuous threat and that the BJP Government has failed to protect the state’s natural resources and identity.

He said that if Goa is to be protected, the BJP cannot be allowed to return to power in 2027. Cruz Silva stated that all those who genuinely intend to work for Goa and safeguard its future must come together and fight this ideological battle unitedly.

He appealed to all opposition forces to unite in large numbers and ensure that the BJP is reduced to single digits in the next Assembly elections, stating that only a united opposition can provide Goa with a stable, people-centric government committed to protecting the state’s future.

AAP leaders stated that the party remains committed to putting Goa’s interests above political considerations and personal ambitions and is ready to work with all like-minded parties that share the objective of protecting democracy, safeguarding Goa and delivering a stable government that works in the interest of the people.
