VALPOI: Valpoi Police have registered a case against social activist Vishwasrao Rane and two unidentified persons for allegedly entering a 2.00 MLD raw water tank at Keri, Sattari, without permission.
According to a complaint filed by Assistant Engineer Yogesh Sawant of the Department of Drinking Water, the alleged incident took place on August 29 around 2 pm.
Police said the tank is classified as a vital installation and alleged that the unauthorised entry could interfere with the water disinfection process before supply to the public, potentially raising public health concerns.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Sahil Naik of Valpoi Police Station.
The allegations are under investigation and do not amount to a finding of guilt.
