PANAJI: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has constituted a Goa Alliance Committee to coordinate with alliance partners as part of its preparations for the 2026 Goa Assembly elections.
The committee, approved by Congress President and announced by AICC General Secretary (Organisation) K. C. Venugopal, will come into immediate effect.
The panel will be chaired by Manickrao Thakare and includes Girish Chodankar, Yuri Alemao, Anjali Nimbalkar, Viriato Fernandes, and M. K. Shaikh as members.
The committee has been tasked with engaging alliance partners, strengthening coordination, and formulating a joint strategy for the upcoming Assembly elections. According to the Congress, the move underscores its focus on opposition unity and building a broad-based alliance to present a credible, stable, and people-centric alternative to the voters of Goa.
