BREAKING NEWS: Disaster Management Mock Exercise Conducted in North Goa.

A disaster management mock exercise was organized by the Office of the District Collector of North Goa at Panaji in association with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). The exercise aimed to assess the preparedness of emergency responders and agencies in the event of a disaster.¹The mock exercise simulated various disaster scenarios, including cyclones, floods, and industrial accidents. The NDRF, along with other emergency responders, participated in the exercise to test their response mechanisms and coordination.The exercise was conducted to identify gaps in disaster preparedness and response, and to strengthen the capacity of emergency responders and agencies. It also aimed to create awareness among the public on disaster preparedness and response.Similar exercises have been conducted in the past in Goa, including a state-level mock exercise on cyclones held in March 2023. These exercises are part of the government's efforts to enhance disaster preparedness and response capabilities in the state.
