Dabolimcha Raja Arrives in Grand Procession, New Pandal Set Up Under Dabolim Flyover

DABOLIM: The arrival of Dabolimcha Raja marked a grand start to the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations on Thursday evening, as the idol was brought in a vibrant procession amid the beats of Dhol Tasha and chants of “Ganapati Bappa Morya”.

A large number of devotees gathered along the route as the procession made its way to the newly prepared pandal beneath the Dabolim flyover. The atmosphere turned festive with traditional music, devotional chants and enthusiastic celebrations.

Organisers said the new venue is among the largest Sarvajanik Ganapati pandals in Goa and is expected to witness a steady flow of devotees throughout the festival.

Chicalim Sarpanch Kamla Prasad Yadav said the venue was shifted this year after the shed traditionally used for installing Dabolimcha Raja was removed due to the ongoing flyover construction.

Despite the change, Yadav said the new location has provided significantly more space for devotees and celebrations.

“Although the flyover work resulted in the removal of our earlier shed, Bappa has given us a bigger and better place this year. We now have much more space to welcome devotees and celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi with greater enthusiasm,” Yadav said.

Yadav urged people from across Goa to visit the pandal and seek the blessings of Dabolimcha Raja.

He said the celebrations were not only about the scale of the pandal but also about bringing people together through faith, devotion and community spirit.

With Dabolimcha Raja now installed at the new venue, preparations have been completed for devotees throughout the festival. The grand arrival has set the stage for several days of religious and cultural celebrations in Dabolim.
