Panjim:The Deltin Casino vessel, which was temporarily shifted from its original location near INOX on the Mandovi River to a spot opposite the Old Secretariat, has been granted a six-month extension to remain at its current berth.
According to the Captain of Ports (CoP) Authority, the extension has been granted due to ongoing dredging work at the vessel's original location near INOX. Initially, the vessel had been permitted to remain at the Old Secretariat site only until May 31, after being relocated to make way for a proposed 112-metre-long casino vessel.
However, following legal proceedings before the Bombay High Court at Goa, the entry of the new casino vessel was put on hold. Despite this, the government has now allowed the existing Deltin vessel to continue operating from its temporary location for another six months.
Officials said that once the dredging work is completed, the vessel will be shifted back to its original berth near INOX.
