CURTORIM: Maina Curtorim Police have registered a case against a man accused of trespassing into a residence in Nuvem and allegedly sexually assaulting an 85-year-old woman.
Police said the complaint was filed on July 9 by the victim’s daughter-in-law. The incident is alleged to have taken place around 7:30 pm on July 7 at Anus, Nuvem, in Salcete.
The accused, identified as Stanley Coutinho, a resident of Calangute, allegedly entered the house without permission, sexually assaulted the elderly woman, verbally abused her, and outraged her modesty.
Based on the complaint, Maina Curtorim Police have registered an FIR under Sections 332(b), 64(1), 74, and 76 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The identities of the complainant and the survivor have not been disclosed to protect their privacy. The investigation is being led by LPSI Veronica Coutinho.
