PANAJI: Goa has won the Winner State Award for Overall Performance under the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme in the Small State category.
The award was presented by Union Food Processing Industries Minister Chirag Paswan at the PMFME Conclave held in New Delhi on August 24 and 25.
Goa surpassed its target by sanctioning 160 applications against the target of 134 between 2021 and 2026-27. A subsidy of ₹5.76 crore has been released to 147 beneficiaries, while ₹8.32 crore was disbursed to 1,974 SHG enterprises/applications covering 2,198 members.
Goa also received individual recognition, with Geeta Joshi named Best District Nodal Officer and Yeshwant Tuyenkar named Best District Resource Person.
The award recognises Goa’s efforts to support micro food-processing entrepreneurs, SHGs and strengthen the state’s food-processing sector under the PMFME scheme.
