In a shocking revelation on the occasion of Shivjayanti, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has shed new light on Goa's history, debunking the common belief that the Portuguese ruled the entire state for 450 years. Citing Portuguese records from 1667, Sawant clarified that their rule was limited to only three talukas: Bardez, Tiswadi, and Saxti.The remaining eight talukas, Sawant revealed, were under the 'Shivshahi' rule for nearly 250 years. However, Shivaji Maharaj intervened, and the Portuguese ultimately withdrew this order.
