New Delhi, August 12, 2026: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Shri Girish Chodankar, Leader of Opposition Shri Yuri Alemao, and AICC In-charge for Goa Shri Manikrao Thakare today met AICC President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge ji in New Delhi and held detailed discussions on the political strategy and organisational preparedness of the Congress party in Goa.
During the meeting, the Goa Congress leadership invited Shri Mallikarjun Kharge ji to Goa on August 17, 2026, to address a special organisational meeting of booth-level workers, Block Committees, frontal organisations, and office-bearers of the District and State Committees.
The proposed meeting will focus on strengthening the Congress organisation at the grassroots level, empowering booth-level workers and chalking out a coordinated political strategy for Goa.
The leaders also discussed the prevailing political situation in Goa and the roadmap for strengthening the party across all 40 Assembly constituencies. Emphasis was placed on greater coordination between the State and District Committees, Block-level organisations, frontal organisations and grassroots workers.
The interaction with Shri Kharge ji assumes significance as the Goa Congress intensifies its organisational activities and prepares the party for the upcoming political challenges.

Shri Mallikarjun Kharge ji’s interaction with our dedicated workers will provide tremendous motivation and strategic direction to the organisation,” the Goa Congress leaders said.
The proposed August 17 meeting is expected to bring together the party’s organisational machinery from the grassroots to the State level and further strengthen the Congress’s preparedness across Goa.
The Goa Congress leadership reiterated its commitment to building a strong, united, disciplined and election-ready organisation capable of providing a credible and people-centric alternative to the BJP government in Goa.
