MARGAO: The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) held a statewide organisational and strategic meeting in Margao, bringing together party leaders and representatives from all 40 Assembly constituencies to strengthen the party’s grassroots network ahead of the upcoming elections.
The meeting, held at Grace Majestic Hotel, was chaired by AICC Goa In-charge Manikrao Thakare. GPCC President Girish Chodankar, Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao and Working Presidents M. K. Shaikh, Adv. Carlos Alvares Ferreira, Altone D’Costa and Sunil Kawthankar were among those present.
District Congress presidents Assis Noronha, Rajesh Verekar, Shashank Narvekar and Mangaldas Naik, along with Mahila Congress Chief Pratiksha Khalap, Goa Pradesh Youth Congress President Archit Naik, Seva Dal Chief Organiser Rajan Ghate and other senior office-bearers, also attended.
Block presidents and executive members from all 40 constituencies shared feedback from their respective areas and discussed organisational challenges and priorities at the grassroots level.
Key discussions centred on strengthening booth-level teams, improving coordination between party workers, expanding public outreach and ensuring greater involvement of grassroots workers in party activities.
The leadership also emphasised unity, discipline and collective responsibility, while urging workers to maintain regular contact with the public and highlight issues affecting Goans.
The meeting comes as the Congress seeks to strengthen its organisational machinery across the state and build a more active grassroots network ahead of the elections.
M. K. Shaikh compered the programme, while Amarnath Panjikar proposed the vote of thanks.
