Panaji: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Shri Girish Chodankar has declared that the Congress Party will intensify its statewide movement in support of students, asserting that every attempt by the BJP Government to suppress their voices has only strengthened the Party’s resolve to fight for justice.
Condemning the continued harassment of students and youth activists who have been raising legitimate concerns over the examination scam, Shri Chodankar said that intimidation, detentions, and misuse of police machinery cannot silence a generation demanding transparency and accountability.
“Every attempt by the BJP to crush the democratic voice of students has only made our determination stronger. The Goa Congress stands firmly with every student whose future has been jeopardised by repeated examination irregularities and the arrogance of those in power. We will not be intimidated, and we will not retreat,” he said.
Shri Chodankar stated that the BJP Government’s attempts at image management through public relations campaigns, social media propaganda, and empty assurances cannot erase years of examination scandals or divert attention from the demand for accountability.
“No amount of image washing, publicity exercises, or social media promises can wipe away the truth. Students deserve answers, not advertisements. They deserve justice, not political spin,” he asserted.
Announcing an expansion of the agitation, Shri Chodankar said the Congress Party would carry the movement to every district, every constituency, and every block across Goa to ensure that the voice of students reaches every corner of the State.
“This is not a symbolic protest. This is a sustained movement for justice. Today, tomorrow, and for as long as it takes, Goa Congress will continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with students. We will not rest until justice is delivered and accountability is fixed,” he said.
Shri Chodankar reiterated that the Congress Party’s movement will continue relentlessly until the following demands are fulfilled:
* Immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, accepting moral responsibility for the repeated examination scandals.
* A comprehensive discussion in Parliament on the examination scam and the systemic failures that have endangered the future of lakhs of students.
* Immediate withdrawal of all FIRs and legal proceedings initiated against students and youth who peacefully protested for their rights.
“The future of our students cannot be sacrificed to protect the political interests of the BJP. Every young person deserves a fair opportunity, a transparent examination system, and a government that is accountable for its failures. The Congress Party will continue this struggle with full strength until justice is secured, accountability is established, and every student receives the respect and fairness they deserve,” Shri Chodankar concluded.
