**Goan Girls Cancel Long-Awaited Kashmir Trip After Terror Attack Fears**

Panaji: A long-anticipated vacation turned into disappointment for four Goan girls who were all set for their first-ever trip without parental supervision. The group, consisting of 17-year-old Purvi Teli from Bicholim, her 10-year-old sister Shreeda, and their close family friends — 16-year-old twins Vedi and Vritti Karia — had meticulously planned a week-long trip to Kashmir to escape the scorching Goan summer. The idea for the trip had been in the works for months. For Purvi, it was a much-needed break after her Class X board exams. The twins, Vedi and Vritti, were eager to make the most of their time before getting busy with their own SSC preparations. Their itinerary, prepared with the help of a relative’s travel agency, included stops in Srinagar, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam — all known for their stunning beauty.“It was going to be my first real break in over a year. I had been completely focused on studies,” said Purvi. “We were excited about making memories, shooting reels, and capturing the beauty of Kashmir.”But the girls' excitement quickly turned to fear when news of a terror attack in Kashmir broke just a day before their flight. The four were set to fly from Mopa’s Manohar International Airport at 9:30 AM on Wednesday.“We had some worries about safety, but we still went ahead and planned everything,” said Purvi. “The news changed everything.”The youngest of the group, Shreeda, shared her sadness. “I was so looking forward to playing in the snow and making videos. It was my first time travelling without my parents, and I felt grown up,” she said. After tense discussions late into Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, both families decided it was too risky to go ahead with the trip.Vedi recalled how her mother warned them not to speak Gujarati if they ended up going, fearing it could make them targets. “She told us to stick to English or Konkani. That really scared me,” she said. Her sister, Vritti, added, “We were so excited. This was our last chance for a proper break before three intense years of academics.”Though the trip has been cancelled, the girls say they hope to travel together in the future — when it feels safe again.
