Panjim ;For the first time in its 500‑year history, the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman will be represented in a papal election: Archbishop‑Cardinal Filipe Neri Ferrão departs for Rome on Thursday night to attend the funeral of the late Pope Francis and to vote in the forthcoming conclave to choose the next pope. Joining him among the electors is fellow Goan‑origin prelate Cardinal Joseph Coutts, Archbishop‑Emeritus of Karachi, who remains eligible until his 80th birthday on 21 July.
