Panaji, 6 August 2026: The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee has strongly condemned the BJP Government for its complete failure to provide adequate public sanitation facilities at major tourist destinations across the State.
The shocking incident at Miramar, where visitors are forced to relieve themselves in the open due to the absence of sufficient public toilets, is a national embarrassment and a glaring reflection of the BJP Government’s misplaced priorities. While the Government spends crores on publicity campaigns projecting Goa as a world-class tourist destination, it has failed to provide one of the most basic civic amenities.
Goa cannot aspire to become a global tourism hub when tourists and citizens are compelled to face such undignified conditions. This is not merely a sanitation issue—it is a failure of governance, planning, and accountability.
After 14 years of BJP rule, Goa deserves better than photo opportunities and hollow slogans. The Government must immediately install and maintain adequate public toilets at all major beaches and tourist locations and stop reducing Goa’s tourism potential through sheer administrative negligence.
Enough of the mess. It’s time to flush out this failed government.
