MAPUSA: Mapusa Police have registered a theft case after gold ornaments valued at ₹3 lakh were allegedly stolen from a jewellery store located in the Mapusa Municipal Market.
According to a complaint lodged by businessman Motilal Shabu Lotlikar (65) of Thivim, the theft took place on April 23, 2026, between 4:13 pm and 5:00 pm.
The complainant stated that two unidentified women, accompanied by several unidentified men, entered the shop and allegedly stole three 22-carat hallmarked gold chains weighing a total of 32 grams. The jewellery was displayed on a tray inside the shop’s display counter.
The value of the stolen gold chains has been estimated at ₹3 lakh.
Mapusa Police have registered an offence in connection with the incident, and further investigation is being conducted by PSI Abhijit Naik.
