INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY REGISTRATION IN GOA CROSSES ONE LAKH MARK

Panaji, June 21:

In a remarkable display of public participation and enthusiasm towards wellness and healthy living, registrations for the International Yoga Day celebrations in Goa have crossed the one lakh mark.

The celebrations witnessed widespread participation across the State with programmes being organised at numerous locations by various organisations and departments. A total of 1,230 venues were registered by Patanjali Yog Samiti, NGOs and other organisations. In addition, more than 80 programmes were organised at the party and constituency level, while the Department of Sports facilitated activities at 12 venues. Several other yoga sessions and events were also conducted across Goa under the aegis of the Department of Ayush.

The overwhelming response reflects the growing awareness among people about the importance of yoga in promoting physical, mental and spiritual well-being. The large-scale participation has made this year’s International Yoga Day celebrations one of the most successful and inclusive in the State.

The Government of Goa expressed gratitude to all organisations, volunteers, institutions and citizens who contributed towards making the celebrations a grand success and reiterated its commitment to promoting yoga and healthy lifestyles among people.
