The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, through the National Film Development Corporation ( NFDC) has jointly organized the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa from 20 to 28 November 2024 in association with the State Government of Goa through its organization Entertainment Society of Goa ( ESG) . The 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is sure to be a delight for film buffs and buffs alike and promises an unforgettable film festival with excellent planning and diverse programmes .
Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs Dr. L. It was held in the presence of Murugan. Secretary of Information and Broadcasting Ministry Sanjay Jaju , Special Secretary of Information and Broadcasting Ministry Neerja Shekhar , Director of IFFI Festival Shekhar Kapur , Chairman of Central Board of Film Certification Prasoon Joshi and senior officials of the Ministry were present on this occasion.

Dr L Murugan in his speech highlighted the important role of this festival on the global platform. "Compared to global festivals like Cannes, IFFI has now become a historic event not only in India but internationally," he said. He said that in order to enrich the unique experience of this festival, special activities are being carried out every year .

The Ministry has organized promotional roadshows in major cities including Hyderabad , with some recent events in Mumbai and Chennai to encourage citizens to participate in the festival in larger numbers . On this occasion, Dr. Murugan appealed to the people to participate in this festival in Goa to realize the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to realize the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the industry should consider this event as their own event and make Atmanirbhar India and IFFI a famous cinematic event celebrated globally. .
IFFFY 2024 Concept : 'Young Filmmakers' – “ The Future is Now ”
The concept of IFFI 2024 , conceptualized by Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, recognizing the potential of young filmmakers to shape the future of creativity : Focused on 'Young Filmmakers' – “ The Future is Now ” .
India is fast becoming one of the world's powerhouses in film production and every nook and cranny in this field is being considered. Union Information and Broadcasting Secretary Sanjay Jaju expressed the belief that the new emerging talent in our film industry will play an important role in shaping the future of our country , said Sanjay Jaju in his inaugural address today. This year's IFFI 2024 has been designed with both the filmmakers and the audience in mind , giving preference to voices with the potential to shape the future and focusing especially on emerging young filmmakers who play an important role in shaping the country's cultural narrative , he said.

75 Creative Minds of Tomorrow' ie 75 Creative Minds of Tomorrow initiative will be expanded and instead of 75 artists in the last festival, 100 young talents will be given an opportunity. 400 young film students from film schools across the country are being provided all facilities by the Ministry to participate in IFFI.
A new category and Best Debut Indian Director Award has also been introduced to recognize the filmmaking talent of the youth across India . Activities such as masterclasses , panel discussions , film markets and film packages are planned for young producers. Apart from this, IFFFY 2024 will also pay homage to the veterans of the film industry and showcase them through special sections and exhibitions that will give audiences in Goa a unique experience.
Noted filmmaker Shekhar Kapur is the director of the festival and the festival has emerged as a festival run by the industry for the industry and this is the essence of the joint organization of the 55th IFFI festival , said Sanjay Jaju, secretary, Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. He said that for the first time in the history of the film festival, we have started the tradition of handing over the entire initiative to the industry and this is a historic event.

Central Board of Film Certification ( CBFC) Chairman Prasoon Joshi opined that India is the ' Land of Eternal Dreams ' . He also emphasized on the need to provide a platform to these artists to share the genuine feelings of grassroots storytellers. Highlighting the important role of IFFI in promoting such talents and gaining recognition on the global stage , he also presented the concept of International Indian Film Festival 2024 to the audience once again. He also appreciated the Ministry's efforts to support and support these emerging talents through Creative Minds of Tomorrow. He also expressed the opinion that the story that is still left to be told should be shared with the world.

Highlights of IFFI 2024
Global Participation and Number of Films : This year's IFFF received 1,676 submissions from 101 countries , reflecting the growing international recognition of the festival. Iffy 2024 will feature over 180 international films from 81 countries, including 15 world premieres , 3 international premieres , 40 Asian premieres and 106 Indian premieres . This includes renowned and award-winning films from other parts of the world and this year's festival is sure to leave an indelible impression on the audience!
Australia selected as Country of Focus : Australia has been selected as Country of Focus for IFFI 2024 . There is a dedicated package of Australian films in the festival and the prominent influence of Australian films will be seen in this year's festival. Other highlights include the MoU between Screen Australia and NFDC which will see the participation of leading Australian filmmakers in the Iffy Festival and Film Bazaar . Aus Film will also host an exhibition promoting Australia's best filming locations and co-productions
