LoP Alleges ₹600 Cr BhuNaksha Scam, Seeks SIT Probe.

Panaji: Alleging a multi-crore scam involving Goa’s digital land mapping system, Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao on Friday demanded a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into large-scale manipulations in the BhuNaksha plan, which he claims facilitated illegal construction permissions and resulted in losses exceeding ₹600 crore.Speaking in the Assembly, Alemao revealed that over 200 structures were fraudulently altered in the official land mapping records. Citing a specific instance, he said a developer from Punjab misrepresented land details and secured permission through manipulated BhuNaksha data. “This is not just a discrepancy—it is a calculated criminal offence involving officials and developers. A SIT must be constituted to probe the full extent of this scam,” he said.Responding to the allegations, Revenue Minister Atanasio ‘Babush’ Monserrate admitted that discrepancies had indeed been found in the BhuNaksha plan adopted in 2019. “Yes, certain structures were altered. We noticed the changes and have since reverted them,” Monserrate said.Chief Minister Pramod Sawant assured the House that the government has already ordered a full inquiry into the matter. “We will take appropriate and strict action against those involved. No one will be spared,” he said.Alemao also warned that the scale of the alleged scam suggested deep-rooted corruption and called for immediate suspension of officials found to be involved
