Mandur Resident Booked for Allegedly Swindling Woman of ₹7 Lakh in Fake Land Sale

PANAJI: A resident of Mandur has been booked by Agacaim Police for allegedly cheating a woman out of ₹7 lakh by falsely claiming ownership of a piece of land and failing to complete the sale transaction.

According to police, complainant Vinanti Shirodkar (48) of Palem, Siridao, alleged that Sudesh Dhaku Madkaikar of Dhaktem Bhat, Dongrim, Mandur, persuaded her to purchase a property bearing Survey Nos. 60/0 and 61/1 at Gancim, Mandur, Tiswadi.

Police said the accused allegedly claimed to be the legitimate owner of the property and accepted an advance payment of ₹7 lakh on April 7, 2022. However, after receiving the money, he neither executed the sale deed nor returned the amount to the complainant.

Following the complaint, Agacaim Police registered a case on July 1, 2026, and have initiated an investigation. The probe is being conducted by LPSI Deepika Parwar of Agacaim Police Station.
