CURTORIM: The body of 51-year-old Mahendra Tulaskar, a Curtorim resident originally from Mumbai, Maharashtra, was found in a partially decomposed condition in a marshy jungle area at Fondegal, Curtorim.
Police received information about the body at around 10:46 a.m. from staff at the Chandor police outpost. A police team reached the spot and found the body lying in the marshy area.
An UD occurrence panchanama and inquest panchanama were conducted, after which the body was preserved at South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, for further medico-legal formalities.
According to the preliminary police inquiry, Tulaskar had arrived in Goa on September 21 along with his family members and was staying at his uncle Ganesh Tulaskar’s residence at Fondegal, Curtorim, for the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
Police said Tulaskar was reportedly disturbed and not stable at the time. He allegedly left the house that night without informing his family and had remained missing since then.
Further investigation is underway.
