PANAJI: North Goa District Magistrate Ankit Yadav, IAS, has imposed restrictions on drone operations and aerial photography in designated areas of North Goa ahead of a scheduled VVIP visit on August 26.
The preventive order, issued under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, will remain in effect from 6 am to 5 pm on August 26, 2026.
The restrictions cover a 2-kilometre radius along the Mopa link road route, NH-66 from Colvale to the Patradevi Border Check Post, and the Hutatma Smruti Smarak at Patradevi.
During this period, the flying of drones and UAVs, along with aerial photography and videography, will be prohibited in the specified areas.
Police personnel and authorised government agencies carrying out official drone operations have been exempted, provided they are in uniform and carry valid identification and authorisation.
North Goa police stations have been directed to strictly enforce the order.
Violators may face legal action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
