SANKHALIM: A 32-year-old construction worker from Odisha lost his life after allegedly falling from the second floor of an under-construction building in Sankhalim in the early hours of Tuesday.
The deceased, identified as Ganesh Dalbehera, was working at the construction site and had been staying there along with other labourers.
According to police, the incident took place around midnight. Dalbehera reportedly woke up to answer nature’s call and was moving around the second floor when he is believed to have lost his footing and fallen nearly 5.3 metres to the ground.
He suffered severe injuries in the fall and was pronounced dead.
Police have launched an inquiry to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the incident. Further investigation is underway.
