Goa Forward Party chief Vijai Sardesai said people are apprehensive that Congress could “do a hattrick” in defections, stressing the need for Opposition unity and a credible alternative ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.
Sardesai said the Opposition must first unite and prepare a clear policy framework before seeking the mandate to form the next government.
He also accused the government of diverting education funds towards events and publicity while basic infrastructure in government schools remains a concern. He alleged that government primary schools are being shut down while private schools are being promoted.
Sardesai further raised the issue of 305 employees recruited during the COVID-19 pandemic, claiming they were assured regularisation but now face uncertainty over their jobs. He urged CM Pramod Sawant to personally intervene and ensure their job security.
