MOPA: Mopa Airport Police have registered a case against a 46-year-old man for allegedly conducting a gambling activity at Warkhand, Pernem, on August 17.
According to the police complaint, ASI Shamba Rawool said the accused, identified as Ulhas S/o Vasant Pawar, a resident of Harijanwada, Warkhand, was allegedly found near the Pernem Taluka Society branch at around 1.05 pm.
Police alleged that he was conducting a game of chance by accepting money from members of the public and issuing paper slips.
During the action, police seized ₹450 in different denominations along with other articles allegedly linked to the gambling activity.
The accused was arrested at around 2.20 pm after following the Supreme Court guidelines. He was later released on a personal bond after local surety was obtained at around 2.40 pm.
Further investigation is being conducted by ASI Shamba Rawool of Mopa Airport Police Station.
