Gujarat;Air India Ahmedabad-London Flight Crash Live: At least 265 people have died in the Air India plane crash that took place in Ahmedabad on Thursday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Ahmedabad to take stock of the situation. The airline, in a post on X, confirmed that only one of the 242 passengers and crew onboard had miraculously survived the crash. Rescue operations at the site have now been completed. The flight bound for London crashed near Ahmedabad airport during take-off. The crash occurred as the aircraft was lifting off, according to early reports. Emergency services are at the scene.

265 people died and many others were injured after the Air India 171 flight headed to London from Ahmedabad crashed moments after take-off. The plane crashed on a resident doctors' hostel in Ahmedabad, which suffered major damage in the accident. The Indian Medical Association Gujarat has confirmed the deaths of three MBBS students, adding that 45 others have been hospitalised following the incident. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the incident, saying he was "stunned and saddened". Meanwhile, the Tata Group has announced Rs 1 crore compensation to the families of each person who lost their lives in the crash.
