PANAJI: RGP MLA Viresh Borkar has alleged that the police administration is involved in the drug trade, claiming that the availability of drugs inside Goa’s Central Jail has been a longstanding issue.
Borkar further alleged that the Home Department is supporting such activities inside the jail. The allegations come amid growing concerns over the drug menace and the supply of drugs within prison premises.
On the political front, Borkar said formal talks on a possible alliance would begin soon. He said RGP is ready for discussions and would consider the letter sent by Girish Chodankar once the latter fulfils his commitment.
Borkar also said organisational meetings are underway, with the appointment of a new State President expected soon, followed by the formation of the Executive Committee and other party committees.
