Taleigao: Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant attended and addressed the concluding ceremony of Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2026, organised as the state-level mega event ‘Aangan Ka Utsav’ at Taleigao Community Hall, Taleigao.
The programme was held in the presence of Health Minister Vishwajit Rane and other dignitaries, highlighting the importance of nutrition, maternal healthcare, child welfare and women's empowerment.
During the event, the Chief Minister appreciated the contribution of Anganwadi workers and other frontline personnel in delivering nutrition services, healthcare awareness and essential welfare support to women, children and families at the grassroots level.
Sawant also distributed prizes to children who participated in various competitions, recognising their enthusiasm, creativity and active participation.
The Chief Minister reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring healthier mothers, well-nourished children and empowered women across Goa. He highlighted several initiatives aimed at strengthening maternal and child welfare, including Poshan Abhiyaan, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and the Swavalamban Scheme.
These initiatives seek to improve nutrition and maternal care, promote the welfare of girls, and support women's economic independence through self-help groups and access to financial assistance.
The concluding ceremony underscored the importance of coordinated efforts by government departments and grassroots-level workers in improving nutrition outcomes and building a healthier and more empowered society.
