Panaji: The Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) has lodged a formal complaint with the Cyber Crime Police Station, Ribandar, alleging the unauthorized takeover of the party’s official digital communication platforms.
In the complaint dated 25 June 2026, RGP General Secretary Vishvesh Naik alleged that St. Andre MLA Viresh Borkar had unlawfully taken control of the party’s official Facebook page Goencho Patrao News, the party’s official email ID, and the Revolutionary Goans YouTube channel.
According to the complaint, the party’s authorized office bearers have been removed as administrators from these platforms, preventing them from accessing or managing the official digital accounts. The complaint further states that the login credentials, recovery settings, and other security details of the official email account were allegedly changed without the approval of the party leadership.
RGP has claimed that the official email account is linked to the party’s bank account and several official activities, raising concerns that the account could be misused for unauthorized or illegal purposes. The party has also alleged that repeated requests to restore access and hand over the login credentials have not been complied with.
The complaint states that the alleged actions amount to unauthorized access, interference with digital records, denial of access to authorized users, and misuse of official digital platforms, attracting provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000, along with other applicable laws.
RGP has requested the Cyber Crime Police to conduct an inquiry into the matter, restore administrative control of the digital platforms to the authorized office bearers, initiate legal action against those found responsible, and preserve all relevant digital records and electronic evidence for investigation
