PANAJI: In a major organisational shake-up, Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) National President and St. Andre MLA Viresh Borkar has suspended two senior office-bearers, dissolved all party committees across Goa, revoked the earlier expulsion of 10 members, and announced fresh organisational elections within the next 45 days.
Through separate orders issued on July 24, Borkar suspended General Secretary Vishvesh Naik and Treasurer Ajay Kholkar from their party posts as well as primary membership with immediate effect, pending disciplinary inquiries under Article VI of the party constitution.
The action follows a complaint submitted by several founder members on July 17, alleging that the two leaders made unauthorised decisions without the approval of the party president or other authorised bodies, allegedly violating the party constitution.
Until the inquiry is completed, both leaders have been barred from representing the party, participating in organisational activities, issuing statements on its behalf, or attending meetings in any official capacity. They have also been directed to hand over all party documents, accounts, funds, assets, and digital access within seven days. A disciplinary committee will be constituted to conduct the inquiry in accordance with the principles of natural justice.
In another key decision, Borkar revoked the termination of 10 party members, including three founder members, stating that their expulsion through a Facebook post dated June 16, 2026, was unconstitutional as it was carried out without show-cause notices, hearings, or approval from the party leadership.
Although the earlier expulsions have been declared invalid, the 10 members have now been placed under suspension pending disciplinary proceedings. They include Aditya Dessai, Premanand Havlu Gaude, Vishal Gauns Dessai, Prashant Suresh Pagi, Rahul Naik, Dagley Fernandes, Melvin Da Silva, Licio Roncon, Manilla Shirodkar, and Sanjan Shriniwas Naik.
The suspended members have also been urged to avoid legal action during the process to ensure the smooth conduct of the party’s internal reorganisation.
As part of the restructuring, Borkar dissolved all State, District, Taluka, Block, Ward and other organisational committees with immediate effect, noting that the position of State President remains vacant.
The RGP has announced that fresh organisational elections for all party posts across Goa will be held within 45 days in accordance with its constitution and guidelines issued by the National Executive.
