PANAJI: Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar held a review meeting with officials of the Power Department to assess its overall functioning and address key issues affecting consumers and the department.
The meeting focused on rainfall-related losses, material supply, billing-related concerns and the working of departmental engineers. Discussions were also held on measures to improve the department’s efficiency and strengthen its functioning.
The recent rise in electricity bills was also discussed during the meeting, with concerns being raised over the increase in billing amounts.
Dhavalikar said that the concerns and questions surrounding the rise in power bills will be answered in the Goa Legislative Assembly on the third day of the ongoing session.
The review meeting also examined the measures required to improve service delivery and ensure the department is better equipped to deal with operational challenges.
