MAPUSA: Two girl students from a higher secondary school in Colvale were admitted to the Mapusa District Hospital after allegedly consuming five iron tablets each instead of the prescribed single weekly dose under a government school health programme.
According to sources, the iron tablets were distributed as part of a routine health initiative in schools. The students reportedly misunderstood the dosage instructions and consumed all five tablets at once.
Shortly afterwards, both students experienced vomiting and discomfort, prompting school authorities to immediately shift them to the Mapusa District Hospital for medical attention.
Hospital sources confirmed that both students are in stable condition and are being kept under observation as a precautionary measure. Authorities are expected to review whether the dosage instructions were communicated clearly to students.
