Two Separate Road Accidents Leave Three Riders Injured in North Goa

NORTH GOA: Three two-wheeler riders were injured in two separate road accidents reported in Old Goa and Saligao, with police registering cases in both incidents.

The first accident occurred at around 11.40 pm on August 14 near Bharat Petrol Pump on NH 748, Kadamba Road, Old Goa.

According to police, 23-year-old Malik Kagnali was riding a Splendor motorcycle from Old Goa towards Panaji when he allegedly entered a one-way stretch meant for traffic travelling in the opposite direction.

Police said Kagnali’s motorcycle collided near the petrol pump with another Splendor bearing registration number MP-30-ZD-2678, ridden by 24-year-old Deepak Bhan Singh of St Inez, who was travelling from Panaji towards Old Goa.

Singh suffered an injury to his left leg and is undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College, Bambolim. Kagnali also sustained injuries and is receiving treatment at GMC.

Old Goa Police registered the case on August 17 based on a state complaint filed by HC Yogesh Palni.

In the second incident, reported on July 19 at Chogam Road, Bardez, Jacob John was allegedly riding a Vespa SXL from Arpora towards Vasco when he lost control near Bhonsle Café and collided with an Activa 6G ridden by 29-year-old Vedang Sandip Phadake, who was travelling towards Panaji.

John fell onto the road following the collision and sustained bodily injuries.

Saligao Police registered the case on August 17 based on a state complaint filed by HC Amit R. Naik.

Police are conducting further investigations into both accidents.
