Two siblings were found dead at Quitla, Aldona on Thursday. The deceased were identified as Sebastian Cardozo (68) and Avalina Cardozo (72). The incident came to light on Thursday around 7 pm when Sebastian's friend had come to the house.

Police said that prima facie it appears to be a suicide-murder case as Sebastian's body was recovered in the bedroom while his sister, who was unwell, was found on the bed in the hall.

Police said that a suicide note had been recovered. Police suspect that the brother might have first killed his sister and then ended his life. Sources informed that Alvalina was unmarried and was staying alone in Quitla, while Sebastian was residing in Bastora with his family. Sources said that before coming to Quitla on Thursday, Sebastian had called his friend asking him to pick him up in the evening. Mapusa police conducted the panchanama and shifted the bodies to Goa Medical College and Hospital at Bambolim.

The police team included PSI Yashwant Mandrekar, PSI Ajay Dhuri, Babalo Parab, head constable Sushant Akshat Kaushal and Copied also visited the spot. ar. SP North PI Nikhil Palekar
