CALANGUTE: Police have registered UD No. 76/2025 under Section 194 of the BNSS after a 66-year-old British national collapsed and died at Candolim beach on Tuesday.At around 6:46 pm on December 2, Calangute Police received a call from the Medical Officer at PHC Candolim, informing them that a foreign national had been brought in dead. Police rushed to the health centre, where the doctor confirmed that the man had been brought by Drishti lifeguards from Candolim beach.The deceased was identified as Mr. Stephen Patrick Pattison (66), a resident of Ashirwad Villa, Vaddi, Candolim, and a native of Liverpool, United Kingdom. His identity was confirmed by his civil partner, Mr. Anthony Bernard Walsh (66), who resides at the same address.During the inquiry, Walsh stated that at around 1:45 pm, Stephen was walking on Candolim beach when he suddenly collapsed, began shivering, and lost consciousness. Preliminary information indicates that the deceased had a known heart condition.Police have stated that no foul play is suspected.The body has been sent to the GMC Morgue in Bambolim for preservation and medico-legal procedures. Further investigation is underway with PSI Dinesh V. Kanolkar.
