VASCO: An unidentified man, estimated to be between 35 and 40 years of age, was found dead on Platform No. 1 at Vasco Railway Station on Saturday.
According to Vasco Railway Police, the Deputy Station Manager informed them at around 11.18 am about a man lying motionless on the platform. Police rushed to the spot and initiated an inquiry.
During the preliminary investigation, police suspect the deceased was a beggar and rag picker. However, his identity has not yet been confirmed.
The body was shifted to South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, where it has been preserved for post-mortem examination and other medico-legal procedures.
Further investigation is being conducted by LPSI Laureen Sequeira of Vasco Railway Police Station.
