PANAJI: Goa Forward Party (GFP) President and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai has been honoured with the People’s Award 2026 – International Politician of the Year at the House of Commons in London, United Kingdom.
Receiving the award, Sardesai dedicated the honour to the people of Goa, saying their unwavering faith and support have been the driving force behind his public life. He said the recognition motivates him to continue championing the interests of Goans, both in the state and across the global diaspora, while pursuing the long-standing demand for dual citizenship for Goans.
“This recognition belongs to the people of Goa. Their trust has always inspired me to serve with commitment. I remain dedicated to protecting the rights of Goans everywhere and to advancing the cause of dual citizenship for our global community,” Sardesai said.
The Goa Forward Party described the award as a proud milestone for Goa, stating that it highlights the state’s identity on the international stage and reflects the party’s continued commitment to safeguarding Goa’s culture, heritage and the interests of its people.
Sardesai also expressed gratitude to his supporters and well-wishers, saying the honour would inspire him to work with greater dedication towards a stronger, united and inclusive future for Goa and Goans worldwide.
