MARGAO: A 35-year-old woman from Comba, Margao, died after falling from the terrace of a four-storey building on Saturday evening. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
According to Margao Town Police, information was received at around 7:12 pm on July 5 regarding a woman who had fallen from a building in the Comba area. Police immediately reached the spot and began an inquiry.
The deceased was identified as Ashma Gaundalkar (35). During the preliminary investigation, police found that she had gone to the terrace of the building before the incident. She was rushed to the South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, in a 108 ambulance, where doctors declared her brought dead.
The body was later sent for a post-mortem examination. The police surgeon stated that the cause of death was multiple traumatic injuries, including severe injuries to the head, chest, abdomen, spine, and vital organs, consistent with a fall from height.
Following the post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family for the last rites. Further inquiry into the incident is being carried out by LPSI Anushka Parab of Margao Town Police Station.
