*Worldwide Resorts-Bambolim violates Stop-Work Order issued by Environmental & TCP, MLA Viresh Borkar Demands FIR on Management**

Bambolim, Goa:* Despite clear stop-work orders from both the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department and the Environment authorities, construction at the controversial World Wide Resort project in Bambolim continues, sparking outrage among activists and political leaders. The TCP Department had issued a stop-work notice to Worldwide Resorts and Entertainment Pvt Ltd after discovering that the company began construction without obtaining the mandatory environmental clearance, a violation of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Notification, 2006. The Goa State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (Goa-SEIAA) also ordered an immediate halt to all construction activities, warning of possible legal action under the Environment Protection Act, including imprisonment and fines for non-compliance.Repeated inspections and complaints have revealed unauthorized activities, including hill-cutting, rupture of aquifers, and the construction of a retaining wall along the beach, which has damaged the natural landscape and obstructed public access. Environmental groups and locals have accused the developer of causing ecological harm and destabilizing the fragile terrain.RGP MLA Viresh Borkar has been at the forefront of the protest, staging a sit-in outside the TCP office and demanding the immediate registration of an FIR against the developers and any officials complicit in allowing the violations to continue. "We want an FIR registered against the project proponent under the Environment Protection Act because they have violated the law. An FIR should be lodged against government officials who did not act," Borkar stated, vowing to continue his protest until authorities take decisive action.Despite mounting pressure and multiple official orders, construction work at the site reportedly persists, raising serious questions about enforcement and accountability within the regulatory bodies. Locals and activists are now demanding swift action to halt the illegal construction and restore the area’s ecological balance.
