Youth Assault Two Individuals and Police Officers Near Grocery Store in Quepem.

Quepem:A distressing incident occurred on the night of May 1, 2025, near a roadside grocery store at Tanki-Xeldem in Quepem, Goa. A group of approximately seven youths allegedly assaulted two individuals who had requested them to move aside while purchasing ice cream. The confrontation escalated, resulting in injuries to both victims.Upon receiving the distress call, a Quepem police team on night patrol, comprising Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Arjun Sangodkar and Police Constable Driver, arrived at the scene. While attempting to question the group, the youths allegedly obstructed ASI Sangodkar in the discharge of his lawful duties and later assaulted Constable Driver before fleeing the site.Goa PoliceQuepem police have registered two separate offences in connection with the incident. The accused are currently at large, and investigations are ongoing.
