AAP Fields 42 Candidates in Goa Zilla Panchayat Elections, Flags Hidden Congress–BJP Alliance

Panjim, Goa – 10 December 2025: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today announced that it has fielded 42 candidates across Goa for the upcoming Zilla Panchayat elections, presenting a youth-driven and grassroots-oriented lineup.AAP State President Adv. Amit Palekar emphasized the party’s commitment to clean, accountable governance. “We have fielded 42 honest and community-rooted candidates. The people of Goa want leaders they can trust. I urge voters to ignore the political noise and support the Jhadu — support leaders who are among you and for you,” he said.Highlighting the party’s focus on youth leadership, Working President and National Spokesperson Valmiki Naik said, “Seventy percent of our candidates are under 35 years old. These are educated, local youth who have been serving their communities long before elections were announced. While other parties recycle old faces and make secret deals, AAP is building a new generation of leadership.”Naik also criticized what he called a hidden Congress–BJP alliance in the state. “Never trust Congress. Their own workers are now exposing coordination with the BJP in Guirdolim, Curtorim, Navelim, and Mandrem. Even AICC in-charges are being accused of involvement,” he added.AAP General Secretary (Org) Shrikrishna Parab cited specific examples of alleged collusion:* **Guirdolim:** Congress gave a ZP ticket to BJP leader Sanjay Velip; Congress District VP Gabriel Fernandes rejected this and announced support for AAP.* **Navelim:** Congress fielded the daughter of BJP’s Michael Cardoz; a former Congress worker and Dy. Sarpanch of Telaulim publicly supported AAP candidate Beatris D’Souza.* **Curtorim:** Congress nominated the daughter of Alexinho, a longtime aide of BJP-backed MLA Reginaldo.* **Mandrem:** A senior Congress leader publicly criticized Congress MLAs and AICC in-charges for colluding with BJP.Parab said, “These incidents clearly demonstrate that Congress is working hand-in-hand with BJP. Only AAP is genuinely fighting for the people on the ground. Voters should recognize this alliance and choose a real alternative.”AAP called on Goans to support its young, honest, and service-oriented candidates to bring meaningful change to the panchayat system.
