*Goa's opposition leader Yuri Alemao has thrown down the gauntlet, challenging Vishwajit Rane to release the names of opposition MLAs who allegedly applied for land conversion. Alemao vehemently denied any involvement, saying "Show me that Yuri Alemao was involved in (conversion of) a single square metre or a single application in my name or a recommendation, let him show" ¹.The controversy erupted after Rane claimed that Alemao had submitted applications to the BJP to get land converted. Rane even hinted at revealing the details in the assembly, saying "Should I read out these details in assembly? They don’t want that".Alemao, however, appears to believe that Rane is trying to divert attention from the high court's verdict on Section 17(2) of the TCP Act. The opposition leader's dare has now put the ball in Rane's court, leaving everyone waiting with bated breath for his response.
