Panaji: The Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department has issued a stop-work order cum show-cause notice to M/s Goan Hotels and Realty Private Limited for the construction of a wall along the bank of the Zuari river at Bambolim. The wall was being built to prevent soil erosion. However, TCP Deputy Town Planner Prakash P. Bandodkar cited a stop-work cum show-cause notice issued by the Member Secretary of the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) and subsequently revoked the Technical Clearance that had been granted earlier. The clearance was originally issued based on a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from GCZMA.Bandodkar confirmed that his office received the stop-work order from the GCZMA and, in compliance, the TCP has directed the company to immediately halt all ongoing construction activities on the said property.
