MARGAO: Youth leader Prabhav Naik has questioned the sudden cancellation of the joint inspection planned to investigate the long-standing sewage problem in Comba, alleging that political considerations are taking priority over public health.
Naik said the inspection, scheduled for November 3 at 11 am, was cancelled within hours of the notice being emailed to him. He questioned why authorities had not announced an alternative date despite the seriousness of the issue.
Taking a political dig at the Margao leadership, Naik alleged that attempts were being made to derail the issue, but asserted that Madganvcho Awaaz would not be silenced.
He urged Health Minister Vishwajit Rane to intervene, reschedule the inspection and ensure a permanent solution to the sewage problem affecting Comba residents and their wells.
Naik maintained that public health must take priority over political differences.
